An Asu Tutoring Center For You

An Asu Tutoring Center For YouIf you have an interest in learning Japanese then you might want to consider a school that offers a tutoring center. A tutoring center is one that provides educational services at no cost to students. These centers offer different programs and topics for many different subjects, all of which are focused on being an asset to those who are interested in learning Japanese. If you find the right program and choose the correct topic you will be able to learn something that is very beneficial to your life.Students can take classes from one of the asu tutoring centers, which are located all over the world. Some of the centers specialize in a specific subject such as English, mathematics, or computers. Others offer classes that focus on more general subjects such as history, science, or business. Each asu tutoring center focuses on a specific subject and it will differ with each different school. However, if you are looking for an asu tutoring center, look for a school that has asu centers that offer one that is not only fun and exciting but has something specific that the student wants to learn. The best asu tutoring center will offer classes and programs that are centered around learning a specific subject or activity. The goal of a school that provides classes is to teach the student specific things that they need to know. The aim of the asu tutoring center is to teach the student something that they have already picked up on by looking at other materials. For example, if the school provides an exercise center then the classes would focus on improving the student's physical condition.Another reason why a school should provide asu is that they offer to pay for lessons that are done outside of the classroom. This is because tutors are much cheaper than the teachers. Therefore, a school that provides tutoring for a fee is better than one that charges for every lesson. Even if you have other parents with children, a school that is well known is more likely to make sure that the education of the student is going to be top notch. There are asu tutoring centers that are actually online schools. It is good to see that there are schools that offer online courses for those who want to learn Japanese while traveling. The internet can be an incredible tool to use to learn a variety of subjects. Some of the tutoring centers that offer courses online are reputable and many students that are given the chance to study for free can enjoy a wide variety of subjects they choose.Tutoring centers also have a point system that students must reach in order to earn a certificate. The reason this is important is because you need to be able to achieve a certain level of performance in order to receive a certificate. Therefore, if you are a student that has been studying for a long time, a class with a certificate for learning something new may be very valuable to you.The goal of a school that offers classes in Japanese is to teach people abo ut the language so that they can do things like go to Korea or Japan or just speak to native speakers of the language. In other words, the goal of any asu tutoring center is to give you a base level of knowledge that you need to speak to people in another country. This level of knowledge is important for communication and is important to helping the native speaker become fluent. Therefore, a school that offers a means that the school will work hard to help you become fluent in the language.

Circle Graphs

Circle Graphs The circle graph is a graph drawn in the shape of a circle and is divided into sectors. Each of these sectors represents a part of a data set. These sectors may be mostly represented as percentage. This circle graph is also called pie chart. To draw the graph we need to calculate the degrees for each arc or sectors. This is done by multiplying percentage with 360 degree. Then with the help of a protractor the graph is drawn. This circle graphs are very useful tool and explained by the following examples. Example 1: A collection of 200 people are sitting in a room. These are 3 colored chairs; 80 sitting on red, 60 sitting on blue, and 60 sitting on green. Calculate the percentage and degrees of the circle graph. Solution: Total people are 200 Percentage on red chair = 80/200 x 100= 40%; (40/100)360 =144 Percentage on blue chair = 60/200 x 100= 30%; (30/100)360 =108 Percentage on green chair = 60/200 x 100= 30%; (30/100)360 =108 Example 2: In a traffic jam, we have 20 Zen, 20 Santro, 30 Nano and 40 WagonR. Find the percentage and degree of the types of cars. Solution: Total cars = 20+20+30+40 = 110 Percentage of Zen = 20/110 x 100 = 18.18%; (18.18/100)360 =65.45 Percentage of Santro = 20/110 x 100 = 18.18%; (18.18/100)360 =65.45 Percentage of Nano = 30/110 x 100 = 27.77%; (27.77/100)360 =99.97 Percentage of WagonR = 40/110 x 100 = 16.66%; (16.66/100)360 =59.97

Connotation and Denotation

Connotation and Denotation Connotation and Denotation Words have duel meaning, a straight forward or literal meaning and a hidden meaning that is connected to the emotions and imagination. In other words they have both denotative and connotative meanings. Denotation is the literal or dictionary meaning of a word and connotation meaning is related to the emotional association that we attach to a word. For example, the word snake has two meanings; the literal meaning is that of a scaly reptile that slithers on the ground. The connotative meaning is different when we refer to the snake we think of evil. Many words carry two meanings, an actual meaning which is known as denotation and an imaginative or emotional meaning, known as connotation. We will understand the concept better if we look at an example of connotation in a sentence and analyze it. Harry is a chicken; he cannot face his enemies face to face. Literal meaning of chicken is a small animal that tastes good, but the implied meaning of chicken is something else here. The connotative meaning of chicken means is somebody who is a coward or is afraid to face danger. Denotation in a sentence Denotation means literal or real meaning of a word that is given in a dictionary. To explain further let us look at a denotation in a sentence and analyze it thoroughly to get the literal meaning of a word. Example: I saw a white dove flying against a blue sky. Literal or actual meaning of the word dove a small bird that is docile and harmless. In this sentence dove refers to the actual bird. Connotation in a sentence Connotative meaning of the word is not so straight forward, it is imaginative, and relates to some idea, concept of emotion. Let us look at the earlier example, a white dove the symbolic meaning of a white dove is peace. So if we apply connotative meaning to the above sentence its meaning changes. The individual saw the emblem of peace in the sky. Connotation and Denotation Denotation is exactly what the dictionary says, many words have similar denotative meaning but their connotative means depends on the context in which they are used. Take the example of the word quest. The literal meaning of quest is in search of something. There are several other meanings of quest, these are hunt, seeking, journey, mission, enterprise. While quest sounds good, hunt that has the same meaning appears to be a little negative. Hunt is generally connected with an aggressive action, and gives negative meaning. Depending on the context a word conveys a negative or positive meaning. Let us look at the way the word hunt and the way it is used in three sentence I am going on a hunt with my friends The police has started a hunt for the perpetrators of the crime Let us hunt together for better opportunities. In the first sentence the word hunt is used in the neutral form, to catch or kill wild animals. The same word takes a negative shade in the second sentence, here it means pursuit in order to punish. The third sentence has more positive vibes, here the word means going on a mission or journey to seek better opportunities. The above example shows that there are three types of connotations, neutral, negative and positive, depending on the feelings associated with the word. Neutral The word neutral means that no feelings, positive or negative, are attached, so a neutral connotation means something that does not engage emotional feelings. Example: Mount Everest is the highest mountain in the world The highest in this sentence is simply stating a fact, there are no feelings, positive or negative are attached to it. Negative and Positive Connotations Negative and positive connotations are related to feelings implied or expressed in a sentence. In other words, negative and positive feelings depend on the context in which the same word is used. The context changes the meaning of the same word. Let us use the same word highest we have used in the neutral sentence. Example: (1) Jim has become a CEO; he has reached the highest pinnacle of his career. (2) Jack deserves the highest punishment for the crime he has committed. The word highest is used to mean the top level in the first sentence to shows positive connotation. The same word highest is used in the second sentence to convey a negative meaning. List of some positive, negative and neutral connotations, generally used in every day language. Positive Connotation Neutral Connotation Negative Connotation Self-confident Arrogant Proud Dignified Snobby Reserved Modest Shy Mousy Venerable Elderly Old

10 Tips for Acing Your College Admissions Interview

10 Tips for Acing Your College Admissions Interview The following piece was written by Joie Jager-Hyman. Joie has been featured in ourAdmissions Expert seriesand is a former Assistant Director of Admissions for Dartmouth College. She is the founder of her own admissions consulting service, College Prep 360. While not every school offers interviews for admission, if the opportunity is presented to you, take it! Before the school year starts, research your colleges websites to see if they offer interviews. If they do, reserve your spot as soon as possible. Even if an interview isnt officially recommended, it can still be a great opportunity for students to demonstrate interest in the school and possibly compensate for any blemishes on their academic records. Whether your interviewer is a member of the admissions staff or a local alumnus, it is extremely important that you put your best foot forward. Having personally conducted scores of admissions interviews, I have compiled 10 easy tips for students to ace their interviews. The following are taken from my new book, B+ Grades, A+ College Application: 1.Bring your resume: In my experience, many interviewers will use your resume to guide the conversation for the interview and pose questions about your extracurricular activities, community service, personal interests, and so on. Discussing your resume will give you plenty to talk about and will help the time fly by.2.Familiarize yourself with current events: Thanks to the internet, it only takes a few minutes per day to peruse national newspapers like The New York Times or to stream national news on NPR. Your interviewer will expect you to have a general understanding of major headlines, so do your daily homework.3.Read outside of school: While you make time to brush up on current events, also take the time to read for your own enjoyment. Doing so will give interviewers a lot of insight into your intellectual curiosityespecially if you choose to read books outside the realm of pop culture (e.g., the Twilight series, Harry Potter).4.Know your academic interests: Chances are your inte rviewer will ask about your favorite academic subject and what you might want to study in college. Think of a class you really enjoy and be prepared to elaborate (enthusiastically) on how you would like to pursue studies in that subject area. Also, do some legwork and research online how this area is taught at your interviewers college. If you can name a course or professor that interests you, all the better!5.Reflect on your personal interests: Be prepared to shed light on personal interests or activities, such as photography or music. Even if you simply enjoy seeing photography in museums or playing music in your friends cars, be ready to talk about your passions! Your interviewer will want to know what youve learned from the time youve spent viewing or taking pictures and how you would want to pursue that activity in college.6.Show passion for a cause: Colleges are looking to admit students who will take charge and use their educations to make a positive impact on the world. This would be a great opportunity to talk about any community service efforts on your resume, but if youre not that involved, think about issues you care about and be prepared to discuss how you want to leverage your passion for those issues to make your mark on the world.7.Do your research: By interviewing, you are exhibiting a serious commitment to a particular college and your interviewer will expect you to have some familiarity with his or her school. Go beyond what it is on the colleges website and chat with a current student, or read the schools newspaper to get a sense of the major issues on campus and what the student body is like.8.Ask three questions: An interview is as much an interviewers opportunity to learn about you, as it is for you to learn more about the college and see if it is a good fit. At the end of your interview, you will likely be asked if you have any questions. Be sure to ask thoughtful, qualitative questions that you cant find the answer to online such as: H ow accessible is the faculty outside the classroom? or, What kind of research opportunities are available to underclassmen?9.Writea thank-you note: In these days of e-communication, a handwritten note makes a wonderful impression on an interviewer. You can keep it brief and just mention how you enjoyed meeting him or her, making sure to include a few highlights from your conversation.10.Practice makes perfect: While you may never have been interviewed before, you can take comfort in knowing that interviewing is a skill that you can learn through practice. Based on my tips, you now have a pretty good idea as to what interviewers will ask you, so jot down a list of questions and practice with someone you trust. Make sure you practice well in advance of your scheduled interview so that you wont feel overwhelmed with questions! Check outCollegePrep360 for more information. Online Vertex Formula Tutors

Online Vertex Formula Tutors A parabola depending upon the given equation opens either upward or downward. The vertex of a parabola is the point where the graph takes a turn and changes its direction. If a parabola opens upward, then the vertex of the parabola is the lowest point or the minimum point on the graph. If the parabola opens downward, then the vertex is the highest point or the maximum point on the graph. We can use the vertex formula in order to find the coordinates of the vertex of the parabola. Example 1: What is the vertex of the parabola of the equation y= 2x2 4x+ 5? The x coordinate of the vertex of a parabola is x = -b/2a for an equation of the form y= ax2+ bx+ c In the given question, a= 2, b= -4 and c= 5. Hence the vertex, x= - (-4)/ (2* 2) = 4/4= 1 Now substitute x= 1 in the given equation to get y. This gives: y= (2* 12) (4* 1) + 5= 2- 4+ 5= 3. Therefore the vertex of the parabola is= (1, 3). Example 2: What is the vertex of the parabola of the equation y= x2 + 6x + 8? The x coordinate of the vertex of a parabola is x = -b/2a for an equation of the form y= ax2+ bx+ c In the given question, a= 1, b= 6 and c= 8. Hence the vertex, x= - (6)/ (2* 1) = -6/2= -3. Now substitute x= -3 in the given equation to get y. This gives: y= (-32) + (6* -3) + 8= 9- 18 + 8= -1. Therefore the vertex of the parabola is= (-3, -1).
